Welcome to A ‘Mike’ For Christ. I hope the name makes you grin.
My name is Michael. I am a devout Christian, an unashamed Jesus-lover. I embraced Christ as a young child and became an ardent student of the scriptures at 12. Christ’s life has made every difference in mine, and there has been no looking back. I love the scriptures and enjoy teaching and writing about them.
I live in currently live in Danville, VA, where I was born and raised, blessed to grow up in a Christian home. I attended college in the Midwest where I earned two degrees. Since then, I have lived in Japan, Indianapolis, and Winston-Salem, NC. I enjoy books, writing, a growing interest in most sports, and study in all subjects.
Something interesting to know about me? Hmm…
- Favorite sports: tennis, soccer, mixed martial arts
- Something bizarre: I confronted my biggest fear (spiders) when I held a tarantula (didn’t help).
- On my bucket list: chase a Midwest tornado
- Dream job: pastor
- Biggest accomplishment: earning a graduate degree
- Lowest point: losing a good job and nearly everything I owned
- My favorite scripture: Joshua 1:8
- Who from the Bible is most influential to me? Joseph
You can find out more about me at the “Q&A” tab above and in the post “11 Questions for Michael”.
Yay love your blog!!! Look forward to following you as well, thanks for the follow!
Love your blog and testimony. So glad to find you and hope to have you write for me sometime soon! Blessing!
Yes anytime and God Bless!!!
Hey Mike, thank you for the follow. I have seen you around on a couple of other blogs. Kates and aservant. Keep sharing your thoughts on Morning coffee. Have a great day!
Hi there. I see that you’ll be hosting “Morning Coffee” soon. Also, it was mentioned that you live in Tulsa. I attended university and church there for six years. I have many friends still there and wish to get back to visit. Nice to meet you, Levi!
Nice to meet you too. I actually live on a farm about 25 miles north of tulsa. About 3 miles west of hi way 75 going towards Bartlesville.
Okay, I’ve been that way…to Bartlesville once. Farm life–sometimes I think it’s the missing piece to my life! Cheers!
Cheers to you too Michael. I was raised on a farm so this is the lifestyle I prefer. It isn’t for everyone though.
I appreciated the conversation yesterday and the follow on our blog. I look forward to many more conversations in the future.
A Servant
P.S. Next week I’ll be introducing a new blog idea and will be asking for input. I sure would like for you to chime in with what you think.
I’m happy our paths have crossed, too. I’ll be sure to watch for your new idea and would be happy to offer my input. Cheers!
Hi Michael! Can you believe this is the first time I’ve read your About page? Unreal I know. Its pretty much what I would have expected. Lol. In a good way I promise! Educated God loving christian.
BUT!! 3 things surprised me. Japan. Spiders. And Tennis!
I love tennis!! Playing and watching!
Rafael Nadal is my boy!!
Keep teaching Michael. You have much to share and i have much to learn.
Kate
Haha…you threw me there. 😀 I should have remained in Japan longer. I despise those wretched creatures (did I mention I despise them?) And tennis all the way, but I cannot cheer on Mr. Nadal (sorry). Federer! Cheers!
Federer? Oh man. I will have to think about this and get back to you.
I’m back!! It’s all good! LOL!
Ha!Ha! (You’re a riot!)
Btw, have you attended the U.S. Open? That’s on my bucket list.
I have not. I live 30 minutes away but getting tickets is impossible!!!!!
Hi Mike!
Thanks for following my blog TheTheologiZer! I’m looking forward to what you have to share about our faith.
God bless!
– Zer
Bless you! I cannot wait to receive from you as well. Cheers!
(Oh…TheologiZer! I get it! Haha!)
Hi “Mike for Christ!” Great blog here. Sorry the train conductor gig didn’t work out, but happy about your other accomplishments. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog. Look forward to what you have to say. Blessings.
I appreciate your comments, Melwild. I’m happy I found your blog!
I really like your posts. This week’s are centered around faith, calling us to step out and act as if what we say we believe is what we truly believe. I appreciate that!
Have a wonder-filled weekend!

You’re so kind, Tami, and thank you. May God be glorified through them. You have a great week, too.
Not a fan of spiders? Probably don’t come down to Australia any time soon. Particularly our house! It’s mud brick and wood, in the bush. Kind of ideal arachnid habitat…
I absolutely hate them. I’ve heard of two deadly ones you guys have, the funnel web and the white-tailed spider. Are you afraid of them where you are? And how big do they get? I have no problem with snakes, but I cannot understand why God created eight-leg terrors like spiders.
Also red- backed spider. I’m pretty sure I could find one if I went up to the shed right now. And i Saw a funnel web a few weeks ago.
We’re not bothered, really. The children know not to put their hands in to potential spider homes! In our house we have daddy long legs, which are just little things and huntsmen which would be about the size of your palm, legs included.
Sorry to give you the heebie- jeebies!
Just terrible. The largest spider I’ve encountered was high on the wall of a shed, the size of my hand–and my hands are big! A co-worker decided to kill it, face-to-face with a screwdriver! We have big, fat wolf spiders here in NC. I confess that I turn into (no offense) a girl when the spiders come out!
Whereas I just scoop them up with my hand and put them outside! Not so girly, my friend 😉
Ha!Ha! I know people like you, and I don’t understand them!
🙂
Mike,
It’s always great to see your comments on my posts. I see we’re kindred spirits. I share a fear of spiders with you. I also love the story of Joseph and how his dreams weren’t dead through all his trials. God was using them to get him to a place where those dreams could become a reality. He didn’t give up in a dungeon of despair where he felt forgotten and neither should we. I’m glad our paths have crossed.
Chris
It’s always great to see your posts, too. I wanted this blog to be purely devotional because I hoped to connect with other strong believers, like you, and share of God’s expression through them. Spiders: those miserable creatures! I will ask God why their creation when I see him. Since everything is bigger in Texas, I’m sure you have a hefty fear! For me, the story of Joseph is one of the richest in the Bible–and the way Joseph forgave! So happy to meet you, Chris!
Love the title of your blog! Glad to see another blog with an inspirational focus; we surely need more of those influences in our world today. God bless you and your endeavors!
Hi Lindsey! Thanks for the follow; I was happy to do the same for you. Your writing style interested me, and faith and inspiration is always appreciated. Good luck on your book!
Thanks Mike!
Welcome to WordPress Mike! Looking forward to your sharings and posts 🙂
Thanks for the welcome, Stephen. It’s always great to connect with fellow believers. I look forward to reading your content as well. Cheers.
